Mission Reunion

So I'm a little slow, really slow. Over conference weekend I had a mission reunion. It was fun seeing some of the sisters I served with, such good friends.

I had lunch with Sister Miyashita, Hiromi now. I hadn't seen her for five years. She's been all over the place, Japan, BYU Hawaii, Provo, and now Canada. We served together in Simi Valley for 3 months. It was fantastic. I taught her English and she taught me Japanese. I wish I knew then that I'd be working for a Japanese company. Instead of learning to introduce myself as a missionary in Japanese maybe I could've learned something useful to the trade. Ah well.
She is so kind and trusting. My favorite memory of her is tracting and we ran into a Japanese lady. Hiromi was SO excited to speak her own language. We KNEW the lady was from Japan, we could hear her from outside, she was singing Japanese opera karaoke. So we waited for the song was over so she could hear us and we knocked. She came to the door and told us she didn't speak English. So we asked " Japanese?" and she nodded yes so Hiromi introduced us in Japanese. The lady looked at back and forth at both of us a little panicked and then said "Oh, sorry, maybe Korean?" and shut the door. Hiromi looked at me completely shocked, she couldn't believe that someone would so blatantly lie right to our faces. Hiromi is just so sweet :)

Me, Sister Hansen, Sister Griffeth

These ladies are the best. TOO many good memories to pick just one.
Jill, Becky, I just adore you.

You can here their takes on the reunion here and here.

So I logged on to post on my blog and when I was done I thought "I bet Jen is blogging right now, too" and then I went and checked your blog and you totally did! How cool is that?

Aw, feel the love! I have a ton of great memories with you too, and a few pictures I should probably post from a certain Halloween. ;)
