We love being married. It's great. We loved dating just as much. We had a blast.
Zach has this amazing friend named Aubrey. She's a doll. Anyway, Zach and her went to high school together and managed to stay friends. After Zach went on a mission Aubrey started working at Wherehouse Music with me. Aubrey and I were friends right away. About six months after she started working with me, I decided to go on a mission. I kept in touch with Aubrey and when I had come home, Zach had been home for about six months. About a week after I got home Aubrey took me out to dinner with some other friends and invited Zach. This was our first meeting and from then on I knew him as "Aubrey's friend Zach."

Aubrey and I didn't want to do anything big for that first New Year's Eve I was home. So we both agreed to invite a guy to our little 4-person party. She invited Zach and I invited an Elder I knew from my mission. We played old school Nintendo until midnight and that was about it.
This is the first time Zach remembers meeting me. He doesn't remember the dinner we had with our friends. For quite a while after New Years I didn't see Zach. He got busy with his yard-care business and I was busy with school and moving out to Salt Lake with roommates.

Then one fateful night in early October Aubrey came over to my house to burn cd's. This was exactly one year after our first meeting at dinner. "Aubrey's friend Zach" called and wanted to hang out with her. She invited him over and said he could hang out, but she'd be busy on the computer. I was kind of sick that night and was all curled up on the couch watching "Friends" dvds. He brought us slurpees. He sat on the couch with me and we chatted all night. This was the first time I ever thought, "you know what, he's pretty cute!" He called me towards the end of the month and asked me out. (After he called Aubrey and asked her if it was a good idea.)

So we went out. We went on a haunted hayride. As cheesy as I think that sort of date is, it was the best date I had ever been on. Zach and I had a blast and we had so much to talk about. We both knew after our first date that we would get married. It was so different and in an amazing way. When I got home and walked in to the house I saw Aubrey's light on so I went to tell her good night. I walked into her room and she says "YOU'RE GOING TO MARRY ZACH!!" I laughed it off and told her she was crazy, but I thought so too.
Zach and I dated for the next 6 months until March when we got engaged. Zach picked out a ring, but was a little unsure of his choice and made me go with him to okay it. I loved it. (I lost it by April, but that's another story.) And then he told me he was going to plan something special. About a week later (if that?) we were going to the movies or to dinner or something and I was waiting for him in the living room. He came in and told me he just couldn't wait any longer and proposed right there and then. I just adore him, more now, five years later. It just keeps getting better.
