When we built our house we planned on putting in a fireplace, but we had other projects we wanted to complete first. Well we finally got around to, Zach decided to do it right before Christmas. We went fireplace shopping one day, and the next I come home and there's a whole in our living room wall. This was a little scary for me, but Zach is just brilliant when it comes to home improvement. So even though we've had it for a while, I wanted to share with all the out-of-towners so you you too could share in the brilliant talent that is my husband. I didn't get a great before shot of it, but I did get a middle.
After we framed the spot for the fireplace to sit, JJ took a liking to it. You can kind of see his little dog bed inside. Here is after!
I just love it! It's was so nice over Christmas, and we were so happy to have a place to hang our stockings. We've enjoyed it so much this winter and it's so nice to have the tv and components out of the way. And Zach did it all, I was merely an assistant occasionally. I did paint the drywalled part where the tv sits, but other than that, it was all Zach. I'm so lucky!

oh man... I would have NO idea how to even begin a project like this! Your fireplace is gorgeous {and the rest of your house}.
You guys deserve an award or something. This is amazing. When we buy a house, you already know we are consulting you on everything!
Dang, that looks awesome! Gary and I really want a fireplace too, but I don't think we will put one in this house.. We don't have a fireplace in Utah, but we did have one in Vegas.... Question.. Who needs a fireplace in Vegas??? We thought it was pretty funny! Again, it looks great!
